Crisis Support

Suicidal ideation or thoughts of extreme distress can come up suddenly or be lingering in your mind for a while.

Wether you need help now or are making a safety plan incase a crisis situation arises, we want you to have the resources you need.

  1. 988 Mental Health Hotline: great if you need telephonic support available 24/7 via call or text

  2. 911 is the correct place to call if you are in immediate physical danger of hurting yourself or others. Inform dispatch you are navigating a mental health crisis as often squads have trained members to deescalate situations and provide psychological care.

When providing aid to someone in mental health crisis, be direct to ask:

  • Do you have a plan to hurt yourself or someone else today? Get as many details on that plan.

  • Stay nearby unless it puts you at risk of danger.

  • Call for help. It can be intimidating to let others in during your most vulnerable moments, but in a crisis trained professionals nearby are what you need.
